Games Of 2012 – New Xbox Releases In 2012

From Battlefield 4 to Resident Evil 6 here are our predictions for the new Xbox 360 games to be announced in 2012.

Black Ops 2

With Sledegehammer Games and Infinity Ward having just put the finishing touches on Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, it’s Treyarch’s turn up to bat once again. With Black Ops having been such a commercial success, we’re thinking that Treyarch is going to stick with the Black Ops name and continue the story of Woods and Mason. Perhaps they’ll set it a little later duing the Cold War, during the Eighties. We’re predicting an announcement in early 2012.

Battlefield 4

EA isn’t going to waste any time with this. We’re guessing that DICE is already hard at work on the pre-development phase of Battlefield 4, sketching out concepts and finding ways to make the single-player less of a boring chore. We probably won’t hear anything about it for a while – not until the tail-end of 2012 at least – but mark our words, DICE is thinking about where to take Battlefield 4 right now.

Assassin’s Creed 3

There’s a chance that Assassin’s Creed 3 won’t just be announced in 2012, but could actually be released in 2012. Many have speculated that the release date will in fact be December 21, 2012, the date the Mayan Long Count calendar tells us will be the end of the world. The game is definitely in the works, and probably has been in some form or another since completion of Assassin’s Creed 2. The most recent rumours suggest that the game will see Desmond reliving the memories of a late 18th Century ancestor living during either the French Revolution or the American Revolutionary War. The latter, with its ties to the Freemasons, would be perfect material for the Assassin’s Creed storyline.

Resident Evil 6

In March 2009, Resident Evil 5 co-producer Masachika Kawata stated that a new installment in the series could take Capcom four to eight years to develop. There’s a chance Resident Evil 6 could release in 2013, then, with the marketing wheels starting to turn in 2012. Very little is known about what a new entry into the series will entail, but internet sources suggest that Resident Evil 6 will return to the series’ roots, focusing more on horror than action and firefights.

Gears Of War 4

If Gears Of War 3 continues to sell and hits the eight million mark then there’s no doubt we’ll see a new Gears; Cliff Bleszinski said as much himself. But what form would it take? We don’t believe we’ll see a straight-up sequel, or even any of the usual cast of characters. Marcus Fenix’s story is done and dusted. We think Epic will look into the Gears backstory and pick events from it in which to tell new stories, much as it’s doing with the Raam’s Shadow DLC. There’s every chance Bulletstorm dev People May Fly may be put on development duties, too.

Crysis 3

Crytek has often voiced it’s desire to make a third Crysis, going as far as to say that the story has already been mapped out, potentially even into fourth and fifth iterations of the series. It all depends on sales, apparently. Currently, Crysis 2 has sold 1.8 million units worldwide across all formats, which isn’t exactly a resounding success in today’s market. It’s not unimpressive though, so there’s every chance we’ll see the graphics-kings Crytek returning to the Nanosuit some time over the coming year.

Dead Space 3

Work on Dead Space 3 is undoubtedly underway, with rumours suggesting it’s set on ice planet Tau Volantis, where poor old Isaac Clarke has crashed his ship (poor guy can’t catch a break). It may not be the only Dead Space we hear about in 2012, though. Fresh reports claim that EA is looking to expand the Dead Space IP, potentially creating a Dead Space FPS, an “Uncharted-like game”, and even a spaceship flight game. Looks like Dead Space is going to be in the news a great deal over the course of 2012.

Hot Pursuit 2

Given that Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit has sold somewhere in the vicinity of 8.5 million units across all formats, and the fact that the only game Criterion has worked on since its release has been Burnout: Crash, we’d say it’s a safe bet to assume the studio is now hard at work on a Hot Pursuit sequel to be announced some time next year. EA certainly needs something to make up for the mediocrity of this year’s Need For Speed: The Run, and Criterion more than has the talent to deliver.

  1. Some one who likes new things

I clicked on this and wasted my time because al you did was take games that are already out and change the number on them. What about new games like Rainbow 6 Patriots of Metro Last Light? Bioshock Infintie and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron are also new. Jeez.

As it says throughout the article, these are predictions. We don’t -know- they’re coming out, we’re just making educated guesses.

We do, however, know for a fact that BioShock: Infinite, Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron, Rainbow 6 Patriots and Metro Last Light are coming out. As such putting them on a list of predictions would be largely redundant. If you like, here’s our prediction of a brand new IP: it’s going to be developed by Infinity Ward and in it you play as a sentient basketball called Charles who plans to take over the world. It’s an RTS. COULD IT HAPPEN???

Farmville really Claws lower everything you really like with regards to Scott Kirkman’s The Walking Dead; the stress, the climate, the actual setting, the entire world, how the tale goes. Simply almost everything, even comic visuals. (The Walking Dead actually is a comic string if you didn’t realize) Sadly, Irrrve never obtained the chance to go through all the textbooks. The tale is great along with their is many surprises! Ought to purchase!
